When we got here at the brand-new location, there was another big problem. I hadn't remembered to switch on the power at my brand-new house. My friend and I had to rent a room at a prolonged stay hotel the very first few nights until the power company arrived. Without power, I also had no chance to know that I 'd forgotten something else essential. I had not attached my cable television and Web services, either. Let me simply state that going numerous days without Web made me feel like I was trapped in the early 1990s. I seemed like getting something pierced and after that seeing a Nirvana concert. Even when I finally had power at my home, I had no way to surf the web without using my mobile phone. This is a great time to remind you that I still didn't know my mobile phone service wasn't updated. I got hit with California roaming charges the whole time I was waiting for the mystical appearance of the cable guy.

Mentioning costs, I totally forgot to change my forwarding address. That meant that my credit card bill didn't show up. I got struck with late charges here for it. I might have quickly prevented this error by registering for paperless service. That wasn't my only change-of-address error, either. I got pulled over by a California policemans. He mentioned that my license plate wasn't upgraded. Then, he mentioned that I had an out-of-state motorist's license and registration. When you change states of residence, all three of those documents need upgrading. I needed to pay a $175 ticket and after that over $500 for the brand-new licenses. Since I got a brand-new job doesn't imply I'm made of money, just. Why do the cops not know this? Once I finally got wise to the reality that I required to upgrade whatever, I likewise attempted to upgrade my automobile insurance coverage. Would you think they would not let me at first?! I needed to send them a whole tree's worth of documents in order to persuade them I 'd moved. They notified me that I 'd have to pay more for insurance coverage in a higher risk state. Also, I 'd have to pay more till my car passed the California emissions test. Guess what? It didn't! What have I gained from my experience? Actually one hour of preparation could have saved me loads of time and thousands of dollars. All I had to do was update all my forwarding information, website correct my billing information and cellular phone agreement, and inform my insurance provider about the changes. Then, another hour or so at the California Department of Motor Vehicles would've corrected all my license and registration concerns. Because I didn't do this, I had to spend numerous days at a dive motel, got buffooned mercilessly by my friend, and lost a lot of cash I could've invested in brand-new furnishings for my brand-new house phone.
